Description

Get ready to live an unforgettable experience in northern Spain with us. We will leave early from Santander to make the most of this day, and we will head to Bilbao, one of the most vibrant and history-filled cities in northern Spain. Upon arrival in Bilbao, a fascinating 2.5-hour guided visit of the charming Old Town awaits you. You'll stroll through lively streets and discover architectural gems such as the Gothic Cathedral of Santiago and the beautiful Church of San Nicolás. We'll stop at the famous Plaza Nueva, where you can enjoy one of the most beloved 'bilbainadas' (traditional songs), explore the 'Botxo,' as the locals affectionately call their city, and walk through the Seven Streets, a place full of history and charm. We will continue along the banks of the Nervión River, where you will be surprised by the Church of San Antón, an emblematic building that forms part of the city's coat of arms. Next to it, you will find the famous Ribera Market, the majestic Arriaga Theater, and the City Hall. After a pleasant stroll along the estuary, we will cross the Salve Bridge, one of the highest in the region, from where you will enjoy breathtaking views of the Guggenheim Museum, an icon of contemporary architecture. You will have the opportunity to admire both its exterior, with its spectacular shapes and famous sculptures such as Puppy, and its interior, which houses a unique art collection. But that's not all, the adventure continues! After our visit to Bilbao, we will head to Castro Urdiales, a picturesque coastal village in Cantabria. The fishing village of Castro Urdiales is one of the best-kept destinations on the eastern coast of Cantabria and is part of the Northern Way of Saint James. There, you can stroll through its impressive historic center and visit its imposing castle and the majestic Gothic Cathedral of Santa María de la Asunción, dating from the 13th-15th centuries. You will also visit the ruins of the Romanesque Church of San Pedro and the hermitage of Santa Ana, located on a rock, as well as the emblematic Roman Bridge. At the end of the tour, you will have free time to explore the town center, declared a Site of Cultural Interest, where you can do some shopping before concluding this unforgettable tour. Don't wait any longer! Book your excursion now and get ready for a day full of history, culture, and breathtaking landscapes. We'll be waiting for you!
