Description

We'll kick off the day by heading to Espelette, a picturesque village internationally renowned for its famous red pepper, which adorns the facades of its houses. We'll take a guided tour to see the Church of Saint-Étienne, the Château des Barons d'Espelette, and the market square, where you'll find the historic La Poste building and the Pepper Interpretation Center. Afterwards, you'll have some free time to wander around its streets, take photos, and visit its famous craft shops. Our next stop will be in Ainhoa, considered one of the most beautiful villages in France. During the guided tour, we'll stroll along its main street, where you'll find the town hall, the old washhouse, and the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption, surrounded by a cemetery with typical Basque disc-shaped stelae. Then, you'll have some free time to keep exploring at your own pace. We'll wrap up the tour in Sare, another iconic village in the heart of the French Basque Country, nestled among mountains and boasting a truly rural atmosphere. Here you'll have time to eat and explore its main points of interest, such as the church of San Martín or its well-kept historic center. You can savor the local cuisine and enjoy a stroll before heading back. On the way back, you'll pass through other nearby villages, enjoying the rural landscape that connects France with Spain. A perfect route for those who want to discover the essence of the French Basque Country, combining nature, heritage, and free time in a unique environment.
