Owner and cider-maker Aitor personally oversees every step, from growing apples in expansive organic orchards to crafting and labeling the cider. Visitors benefit from Aitor’s hands-on approach, gaining an insider perspective on the cider-making process.

The guided tour includes a walk through the apple orchards and a visit to the production facilities. Aitor shares the history and cultural significance of Basque cider and leads guests to a scenic viewpoint. Here, visitors enjoy local pintxos paired with views of the surrounding Basque countryside.

Unique to Ekain, the cider ages in stainless-steel tanks, enabling the traditional Txotx experience—tasting cider directly from the barrel—year-round. This approach offers an authentic and organic cider experience connected closely to its maker’s passion.
